Overview

The Dashboard in the Application module provides real-time visibility into the health and status of your registeredJFrog Platform Deployments (JPDs)and services. You can see the connections between the JPDs, whether they are installed on your location, or at geographically remotes locations around the worldor drill down to view the status of a single JPD and the services within the JPD.

  • Topology View:Provides insight into the status of your JPDs and services in the Topology view together while real-time status updates on Replication and Access Federation.
  • Trends View:Provides administrators with in-depth insight into the health and performance of your JPDs by tracking a set of parameters around Storage, Security, Distribution and Replication and displaying a set of detailed graphs in the following two main views - the Topology view and the Trends view.

Prerequisites

Dashboard Permissions

Viewing the Dashboard requires Admin permissions.

Page Contents

Viewing JPD Health and Service Status

From theApplicationmodule, clickDashboardand selectTopology. The Dashboard Topology view displays the JPDs configured in the JFrog Platform across geographical areas in a map view with dedicated views for Replication and Access Federation.

You can narrow down the JPD information displayed in the Topology view by entering tags that were predefined during theJFrog Platform Deployment Registration Process.Tags arelabels that help you to organize your JPDs according to logical categories. For example: you can group JPDs by location or by data centers including Development, Testing, and Production.

The following indicators are displayed for each the services installed on each JPD.

Viewing JPD Metrics and Service Details

A set of metrics are displayed at the bottom of the Dashboard providing information on the health of the selected JPD and it's services.

  • Service Status:Displays the Health status of the selected JPD. Click on the JPD to access theMonitoring Service Statusespage.
  • Storage:Displays storage utilisation over a period of time for repositories and package types.
  • Replication: Displays the Replication status - Succeeded or Failed.
  • Licenses: Displays the JFrog license activated on the JPD.
  • Service Breakdown Per JPD:Displays a list of of services installed.

Viewing JPD Replication Status

TheReplicationview displays information on all replications in which the selected JPD is involved. If multiple replications are configured for the service, you can filter the list by source or destination repository.Replication is used in a variety of use cases to synchronise repositories between remote JPDs. Depending on repository size this may require the transportation of huge quantities of data. Since speed of transportation is limited by bandwidth and network latency, this is a process that may take hours and even days to complete. For more information, seeRepository Replication.

Viewing JPD Access Federation Status

Displays the status and health of the Access Federation with arrows indicating direction and the status of the synchronisation process according your Access Federation topology set up in the system.
Access Federation gives you control over access to all, or any subset of your services from one location by synchronising all security entities (users, groups, permissions and access tokens) between the federated services.

Viewing JPD Trend Metrics

TheTrendspage displays the metrics according to a set of categories including Distribution, Replication, Security and Storage. Graphs are and data related to each category and usage based on historical data collected and stored in the Unified JFrog Platform.

Collection Frequency

The Dashboard mechanism collects the data used to generate the graphs every 3 seconds.

Filters

You can apply these global filters to gain different perspectives regarding the health of your JPD:

  • JPD selection:Allows you to select a JPD from a list of registered JPDs.
  • Category: You can view graphs for the following metrics: Distribution, Replication, Security and Storage.
  • Time range:Allows you to set the time period. You can select a predefined time periods: Last 24 hours (default), Last week, Last month, Last quarter and Last year. You can also set a custom time range and select any period of time during which data was collected.
  • Metrics Per Category: Allows you to select All builds (aggregate across all the builds) or an individual build from the list of available builds. The default isAll Builds.
  • Build status:允许您查看数据根据建造年代tatus: All, Success, Failure and Unknown. The default isAll.
  • Security:Displays the detected security violations according the repositories and builds.
  • Distribution:Displays the success and failure of distributed release bundles to Edge Nodes.

The JPD Dashboard displays the metrics according to their category. The dashboard presents data for the time range and filters set in three panes.

  • Mini graph: Displayed on the bottom in the order of the release lifecycle. The value displayed on the graph is an aggregate of data based on the selected filters along with a historical trend.
  • Main graph: Selecting a mini graph from the lower pane, displays the visualization of the data by build
  • Right pane: Displays the details of a selected point in the main graph including the break down by builds and runs
